The short answer
Marina Bay Golf Course, long the public option, closed on 30 June 2024. Today, Keppel Club at Sime Road runs a two-level range open to members and the public, 7am to 11:30pm on most days, with 50 balls costing about $3.27 to $5.45 by time slot. Laguna National and NSRCC's Sky Range are the other names you will see. AnyBirdie, our venue, is a simulator lounge, not a range. It wins when it rains, when half the group has never swung a club, or when the night needs food and karaoke.
AnyBirdie, our venue on Kitchener Road, is a golf simulator lounge with two bays. It is not a driving range. If you want a big bucket and a real ball in the air, go to a range. Here is where, what it costs, and when a bay indoors is the smarter booking.
Is there still a public driving range in Singapore?
Yes, though the list is shorter. Marina Bay Golf Course, long the go-to public course and range, closed on 30 June 2024 when its land lease expired, per NTUC Club's announcement.
Keppel Club at Sime Road is where most people end up now. Per the club's website, its range is open to golfers of all levels, members and public. It runs over two levels, with a trellis roof on the upper deck, from 7am to 11:30pm daily except maintenance days (the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month).
Laguna National says its 50-bay range is open to members and visitors, and NSRCC's Sky Range at Changi has a launch monitor in each of its 42 bays (both checked on each club's site in September 2026). Ask NSRCC about non-member access before you drive out.
How much does a bucket of balls cost?
At Keppel Club, the price moves with the time slot. Per the club's website, 50 balls cost about $3.27 on a weekday morning and $5.45 in the evening or at the weekend.
Two things catch first-timers. Club rental is $10 per club, so a driver and a 7 iron add $20. And the ball machines take NETS and credit cards only, not cash.
If you own a bag, that is cheap practice, and no simulator beats it per ball. If your group owns nothing, the sums shift.
Range or simulator bay: what each person pays
Keppel Club bucket prices against one AnyBirdie rate split across your group.
Range prices are Keppel Club's published 50-ball prices; the weekday midday price is left out for simplicity. Club rental assumes 2 clubs per player at $10 each. AnyBirdie is $99/hr with clubs and balls included; the $100 refundable deposit is not included.
When does a simulator bay beat the range?
These are the times we would honestly send you indoors.
The weather turns. A range is outdoors, so a storm, lightning or the midday heat can cut a session short. Our bays sit in an air-conditioned room with 24 hour access.
Half the group has never swung a club. On a screen, even a topped shot gets a number and a laugh. Clubs and balls are provided, so nobody needs to own a thing.
You want numbers. Sensors read the club and ball at impact, and every shot shows carry, ball speed, launch angle, direction and spin.
You want a real hole. Warm up in driving-range mode, then play Pebble Beach or St Andrews.
It is a night out. Order-in catering, outside food and alcohol are allowed, and there is karaoke with 2 mics for whoever is waiting.
When should you just go to the range?
When volume is the point. For 200 balls with a driver on a budget, go to a range. You see real ball flight over a real distance, and everyone can take a bay of their own.
That last part matters. AnyBirdie has two bays for up to 15 people, so a big group takes turns: about 30 minutes of swinging each an hour at 4 players, and about 8 at 15. The calculator shows this under the bay price.
What do the people not swinging do?
No range page will tell you this. With two bays and a full room, most of your group is sitting at any moment. So the lounge is built around seats: 4 sofas with 9 seats between them, 2 benches for 5 more, 4 stools and a drinks counter. The toilet is in-house, which you will be glad of three hours in.
For serious practice, go to the range. For a rainy Friday with six friends and a cake, book the bays.
FAQ: driving ranges in Singapore
Is there still a public driving range in Singapore after Marina Bay closed?
Yes. Marina Bay Golf Course closed on 30 June 2024 when its land lease expired. Keppel Club at Sime Road says its range is open to members and the public, 7am to 11:30pm daily except maintenance days on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. Laguna National says its range is open to members and visitors.
How much does a bucket of balls cost?
At Keppel Club, 50 balls cost about $3.27 on a weekday morning and $5.45 in the evening or at the weekend, per the club's website. Club rental is $10 per club, and the ball machines take NETS and credit cards only.
Do I need my own clubs?
No. Keppel Club rents clubs at $10 each. At AnyBirdie, clubs and balls are included in the $99/hr rate for the whole lounge, so you can turn up with nothing.
Can beginners use a simulator?
Yes, and it is a gentler start than a range. Driving-range mode lets you hit shot after shot, every swing gets a number, and when you feel ready you can try a real hole such as Pebble Beach or St Andrews.
Is a simulator good practice compared with a range?
For some things. A simulator shows carry, ball speed, launch angle, direction and spin on every shot, which helps you spot patterns. A range shows real ball flight over a real distance and is far cheaper for high volume. To work through a big bucket, pick the range.
